COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to prepare the students for a number of different theoretical views, the concepts, and principles of Learning English that serve as the source for classroom practices. The course is also expected to broaden the students’ knowledge and horizon related to current issues on the developments in the field of English language. The coverage of the course will include the theoretical foundations for classroom practices, contexts of learning, designing and implementing English language for daily activities. In addition, this course will also cover some Innovative Techniques in English Language Learning.

 

ACTIVITIES:          

Course activities include class sessions, paper writing and presentations, class discussions, midterm (quizzes) and final exam based on standard national of education.


EVALUATION SYSTEM: 
1.      Class participation: Students are expected to be involved in classroom activities at least 80% of the whole sessions.
2.      Paper writing and presentation: Every student should write a paper and presenting a paper in classroom. The audience should write a report of your friend’s presentation as well as the discussion, the questions and answers of the discussions.
3.      Mid Term Exam and Final Semester Exam will be based on regulation of education minister of Indonesia.
4.      All soft copies of the assignments should be sent to my e-mail or upload to your personal blog’s. Hard copies of the assignments should be submitted individually to me in my office or to the staff in the office. Please notify in the cover of the page of the assignments: your names and to which class do you belong, Class A or Class B. The names and the Class should also be mentioned in the e-mail. For example the subject of the e-mail: A paper Yanto Class X SMK Ma’arif Nurul Huda Utsmaniyyah Lumbung.

SOME REGULATIONS
1.      Lateness would be tolerated no later than 15 minutes after the time scheduled.
2.      During the class sessions, all mobiles should be silent or vibrated.
3.      During the presentation sessions, all computers should not be turned on. Everybody should take notes of the students’ presentations and get involved in the discussion.
4.       All students should dress up nicely and decently.
